The thread is a mobile anchor that allows us to pass through all the corners of the cosmos in an infinite movement.
With this piece I try to give a symbolic reading of women's autonomy and poetically liberate the ultimate meaning of their existence. Weaving allows us to revalue ourselves as women and take control of our gender. We must take control of the threads to question patriarchal discourses and make the feminine a proposal of equality, desire, and creation in a permanent search of our own voice.
Each hoop is the metaphor of a pen that writes life, tacit voices of different women that narrate events associated with existence through color and texture.
I'm not the Artist is a memory made by more than 50 female hands that wrote through gesture. A slow, leisurely gesture, almost a meditation where violence is not known.
The work is made of plastic bags wrapped with yarn that has passed from hand to hand of each participant as an invisible, conductive thread. at the end we have a piece that has transformed the recovered and recycled bags into a work that reinvents the matter as well as the role of women nowadays.
